Like most of my paintings, in “Portals” you can see into past layers, but this one in more pronounced. There are areas where the under layers are preserved in the circles. This reminds me of growth, evolution and generations. I like knowing that everything from the past helps make up who we are today and that in this painting, you can go back and see reminders of that. Inspiration behind the shapes come from nature, water and light.
