“Release” was created early on in my acrylic painting career and represents a breakthrough in this new technique for me. The flowers and color were inspired from my 2011 South Africa trip. It also made Flickr’s explore page the year I painted it (2012). Apparently they pick 500 photos every day to feature, and someone told me “it’s quite a big deal to be picked”.
